I had a friend give me some tackle that she found in her garage from her ex... Weights, line, hooks, etc.  I got one pack of Mustad hooks that I can't figure out what they would be for.  They are double hooks, like a treble with one hook cut off.  I have seen this done to create a weedless crankbait, but these are made out of one piece and the shank is not welded.  What do I use these for?  The markings on the package are: Fresh Water Ref 7826 Size 6

I have cut the rear tine off of the trebles on my topwaters to make them weedless so I can drag them over pads.  Just a thought.

I have seen poeple use this type of hook as a trailer for a rubber toad lure where the two hook points would go into the legs of the toad and attatch to the main single hook that would be rigged weedless into the toads body.  Though, with the shank of the hook not being welded, I don't know if this would work all that well.

those hooks are great to help you fish weedless and reduce hang ups on differnt cranks

It was originally used in weedless hollow plastic "frogs" however it can be used to add hooks to many baits like soft plastic swimbaits that don 't have a hook hanging from the belly.

you can take one of those and then take a horney toad and jam that thing thru its head from the bottom up and then snug the hook points up against its sides.
