how would you go about installing one of these.  If i got the lowrance elite mark 5x how would i install it.

What kind of boat do you have?

The Lowrance site shows a Mark 5X and an Elite 5X, but no Elite Mark 5X.

Which one did you get and is it the DSI version?

If is is just regular sonar, exchange the transducer for a trolling motor puck. Adapting the transom transducer for trollng motor mounting with the Lowrance TM adaptor is just a breakage waiting to happen. Do it right the first time.

It also depends on where you want the transducer and if you want it flush or on a RAM type mount.  I flush mounted one on my boat and opted for putting the transducer on the trolling motor vice using the transducer for the finder at the helm.

I di see the title.  That's why I said the type of mount has to be decided, flush or RAM type mount.  I flush mounted mine in the bow to prevent any possibility of line tangle. :-?
