Yes I would like to know this too! As I just bought the Humminbird 898. And who has the best price on them?

I have the 898 with the Navionics Platinum chip.  I should have saved $50 and just got the Premium instead.  The Platinum offers the 3D option which I don't use.  I have the Premium in a Lowrance 334 at the bow and it's great.  Occasionally, Cabelas offers chips at a sale price so you might check there, or any one of the online marine electronics dealers.

The best price I found on my Navplanner2 was at Tiger GPS.  Check them out.  I didn't check their chip prices.

Ordered in the a.m. went out that afternoon, had it two days later.  They ship from New Jersey.

Humminbird combo units use Lakemaster and Navionics. Before you buy any mapping software, visit each product's website and check to see if either have the waters you are interested in.

If not the software will be worthless to you.

The Contour XD built-in mapping may be all you need. Wait until you get the unit/s to check if your waters are included.
