Opinions on the MK 440D onboard charger

Featured Replies

Probably should have done this BEFORE I ordered it, but just wanted to get some thoughts on the Minn Kota 440D onboard charger.

Just added a new 36 volt TM, which made me have to buy all new batteries, which led me to buy the MK 440D.

Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Don't have any experience with them, I run the ProMariner Protournament 300's but I did go to their web site and check it out.

It looks HUGE and it's heavy, but according to their spec sheet, it should do a very good job maintaining your batteries. It does use a float mode as the maintainer, which I greatly prefer over the chargers that cut off and back on when the voltage drops to a set point.

Well, I just saw another advertisement on your charger and it says it shuts off after 24 hours, that puts it back in the catagory of chargers I don't care for.
