ML Mod Fast spinning rod

Featured Replies

I currently use a Fenwick Aetos 7'6" ML XF rod for drop shotting and small jigs w/ 8# floro.  I'm now looking for something with the same power but more moderate/fast action for cranks, spooks, etc. I'm leaning towards the 1 power KLX from Kistler - what length do you recommend? I would expect the longer rod would help with casting distance. I fish out of a 21' bass boat so length isn't an issue.

Also looking to pair this with a JDM Shimano Vanford 2000 in the lowest gear ratio they make.

Thoughts??

I haven't tried these but I did research ML mod/fast rods. I started dropshot with a 6 ft M rod and planned to switch to a proper ML.  But after trying a few ML rods I always went back to a short M rod because I was used to it.

Falcon spinning rods are mostly mod/fast

Major Craft Benkei 6'8 ML

iRod Genesis III 7'3

Dobyns fury ML

MegaBass whipsnake it's rated xf but some of the videos show it kind of mod/fast

TFO professional 7 ML it's rated F but it has a pretty  mod action

I ended up going with a 6'8M Avid walleye (victory blank) paired with a Tatula LT, I'm really liking it so far as my dropshot rod. I did some dropshot slop fishing this morning and did pretty well till the sun beat me.
