Poison Adrena 6'10" M

Featured Replies

Any owners of this rod out there? How do y'all like it? This is the graphite blank to be clear, not the glass one. I just placed an order for one to use as a do everything rod for creek smallmouth and inshore species out of my kayak. Plan to throw mostly 3/8-1/2oz total weight lures on it. I read that it fishes just a tad lighter than it's 1/4-3/4 rating so I'm expecting it to work well. I'm assuming it has enough power to set the hook on heavy wire 3/0 and below hooks (EWGs & jigs mostly for me). Can anyone confirm? Will be using braid on this rod. Any other thoughts, comments, etc I'd love to know!

Don't know about that rod, but I have the 6'10" M/MF 1/4-3/4 Zodias and I really like it for Vision 110s and 1/4oz lipless cranks. I wouldn't like it or really any M at all for 1/2 baits with heavy wire hooks. Just not the right tool at all.

Interesting. I've fished heavy wire hooks on medium powered rods for years and never once felt like I didn't have enough power. Keep in mind a heavy wire 2/0 and 3/0 are not super thick. In particular the 2/0s. I also do absurd Bill Dance hooksets and fish braid though. So may have something to do with it ?. Glad to hear Zodias is treating you well!

The 6'10 med PA is fairly stiff so I dont think you'll have any issues setting the hook on a 3/0 EWG. Its more stiff than the old model PA and more stiff than the current model Expride.

It should make a decent all around rod for soft plastics.

Great to know. Exactly the info I'm looking for. Thanks!
