My wife and I are wanting to drive up and kayak fish the glacial lakes targeting smallmouths, but just want to make sure we catch a lot of fish.  We fished Roy lake in our big boat about 14 years ago.  We would be more than happy to return there but wanted some suggestions on a few lakes to try that would be great to fish in our kayaks and waters that provide great smallmouth fishing.  Thanks!

Maybe try Cattail/Kettle. Wind is your nemesis in South Dakota, especially in a kayak. That lake has quite a varied shoreline and you’ll probably able to find pockets out of the wind if needed. Some big bass of both species in there too.
