Wacky rig line twist?

Featured Replies

Went out fishing the other day and was fishing a wacky rig senko on 15lb braid to a short 12lb leader which was connected by using a small #10 spro barrel swivel instead of Alberto knot (not a fan of connection knots). After bringing in the bait in a few times when I was about to make a cast I noticed the line was wrapping around the tip of the rod. I’ve never had this happen before until I started wacky rigging. It didn’t really affect anything but got a bit annoying. Any way to prevent this? Or does wacky rigging just cause a bit of twist

You can mitigate twists by rigging the worm at its balancing point, or center of gravity.  Try to avoid reeling the bait in quickly as that can cause the bait to spin as well.

That could’ve been it. I was making short casts to cover and after the initial fall of reel it in fast to make another cast
