Pflueger letting me down

Featured Replies

I have had my pflueger trion for a full season now. I loved how smooth it was and the amazing casting abilities. But now that is gone. Its casting is blah now and it is no longer smooth. It makes a winding noise while reeling in and gets worse as the day goes on, especially when working spinnerbaits. I was wondering if this is because it needs to be greased or oiled, it did get wet once and i just took it apart and let it air dry. Any suggestions?

My Supreme does the sane thing, and I haven't even had it for a year. I'm pretty much done with Pflueger now, I'm just gonna stick with Daiwa and Shimano.

You need to have it cleaned and oiled. A season of fishing will do that to any reel.

instant message me if you are wanting to sell it.If it still functions like its supposed to , all it needs is a cleaning and lube.I never liked the Trion I have, too wide,IMO, the Trion never casted that great, but I bought it cheap enough to not pass it up. Let me know if you want to sell it, or possibly want help to clean it, I am positive it can be smooth again in no time. ;) Ivan

why do people think they can soak a reel and not clean and relube it?that's like not changing your car's engine oil and blaming the manufacturer when it blows up.btw,i've seen the same thing happen with diawa and shimano.try sending it back for warranty repair.maybe you'll get lucky.

rocknfish9001,

dodgeguy, is right. When the reel got wet, it basically rinsed the reel oils out. You are using a dry system. Get the manual out and re-lub the reel according to that manual, or send it in to Pflueger..
