Power Plant Lakes North Texas

Featured Replies

Hi, what power plant lakes do you all recommend fishing during the winter?  Trying to find a good lake west of Fort Worth for during the winter.

Squaw Creek Reservoir

Welsh

Don't know much about Welsh but Squaw has some great catch rates near the discharge this time of year. I'll be there 12/1.

Granbury is a good one, my rod repairman tells me the golden algae kill maybe improved the size average at the lake.

Arlington has some pigs in it

Lavon exists

Ray Hubbard has some good fish in it

If you're willing to drive to Welsh you could maybe check out Palo Pinto Creek, Graham, Martin Creek, Cherokee, Brady Branch, Stryker, Johnson Creek, or Lone Star. I don't know that they're all active all the time but those are a good chunk of the power plant lakes in Texas.
