Thoughts on Googan rods

Featured Replies

I was looking into Googan rods and wondering if they are any good for what they are. I am thinking about buying one since Karl’s has them on sale for 75 bucks. Thanks

Their lures are pretty good but the rods feel cheap to me. Better options for the price IMO

Not of fan of the Googans, but I can't deny that the rods feel great, especially at their price points.  I don't know about the components, but they're light and comfortable in hand.

I know two people who are casual fishermen who tried them, both had the reel seats break after a few uses.

they seem to be made to look better than perform.

I haven’t seen or used Googan rods, but I got my hands on some of the rods made from Favorite for them and they were pretty dead which doesn’t give me much hope

Meh.

Read too many bad reviews on TW

I have many Googan rods and have had them for years. I keep two 2 piece Googan rods with me at all times and the only issue I have ever had was closing one in a door. CatchCo replaced it for free. Fantastic CS all around.

I have like 10 now I think ranging from the Green, Gold, and Black series.

The green is a good affordable rod especially at the current sale.
