Bearing Size

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the bearing size is for a 21 Zillion pinion support bearing? The one that is in the side plate under the cast control knob.

Boca Bearings has a search by reel bearing finder that has, not only the different catagories, but sizes that a reel uses.

I think it's 5x9x3mm if I remember correctly, but you may want to measure it to make sure. That one doesn't take much effort to get to.

I think you are right but I wasn't sure. I could tear one of mine open and look but wanted to see if anyone knew so I didn't have to. Lol

A guy wants all ceramics put in his reel because he constantly dunks them when float tubing in the river. This is not a normal bearing where you would want or need an all ceramic, but it's not money... I asked if he just wanted me to chuck up some delrin or other material in a lathe and make a bushing but he decided against that.

Even with ceramics, that reel will be screaming crazy after a while. Why would he do that? Ceramic won't make the dirt and debris inside the bearing disappear magically. Bushing may be a good idea. I would just get a cheap and disposable reel.

I agree. There are far more people that I know that treat their stuff like crap - leaving rods and reels on the decks if their boats all season and never service them. It's crazy to me.
