As some of you may know I am anti-spinning so I am assembling a true finesse bait casting set up this off season. I already have the reel, a Shimano Scorpion Mg 1000, and now I have $30 worth of Cabela's credit plus some Xmas $$$ from my grandparents to get the rod for it.

My question has to deal with a few things:

1) Do all Avids have the power hump? - Specifically the AC68MXF, AC69MLXF, or AC70MF

      - If so they are out completely

2) Is the Legend Tournament line significantly better than the Avid line?

      - I am leaning Legend Tourament

3) And finally ML vs. M? I've heard that St. Croix rods are generally a bit stronger than other brands. That being said, I hate the feeling of an underpowered rod and will occasionally need to be able to turn a bass headed for cover.

Right now my short list includes:

AC68MXF

AC69MLXF

AC70MF

TBC69MLXF

TBC68MXF

I seem to be leaning towards the last two.

I should also add that this rod will mainly be used for weightless soft plastics and spot removers.

I have the Legend Tournament 6'8" topwater casting rod and use it for weightless plastics and spot removers and its great, you wont be disappointed, great casting distance and sensitive with that xfast tip. I know this is not on the list i figured i would give another model as a option.

I went out there today and they hardly had any Legend Tournaments and none the model I want.

hate to turn subject, but does that sale at cabelas include online to?

I am not real sure, but it's probably in-store only.

It was in a add from the paper.  It is only for the first 4 hours so get there fast. they open at 8 am and the offer ends at 12.

I have the TBC68MXF and it is a remarkable rod.  It can do anything.  That extra fast tip gives great pop to topwaters, and the power curve will is strong enough to let you muscle fish out of the cover.  I use it mostly for spooks and gunfish type lures but also for crankbaits.

I do not think it is the best choice for true finesse fishing.  If you are certain that finesse worms and other light soft plastic baits are the primary lures, then I would opt for the XL.  It will do the job, but is a "no wimp" rod.
