New Verdict spinning rod, guides bent?
I have one and mine is like that at the top 3 guides, I thought it was messed up to but I went to BassPro and all the verdict spinning rods are like that.

Clunn goes with.......Wright and McGill???
He may have been dropped or he may have left. Now if your a consumer going to Bass Pro to buy a rod and reel are you going to buy the Rick Clunn model or for the same price or a little more a pro qualifer reel or carbonlite. Im sure his stuff was not selling when you have smaller, lighter better reels to select from or rods. From a businees stand point why not drop him and his line if your doing way better with other equipment and not have to pay him.

Swept in handles on casting reels, love 'em or hate 'em??
Never had a problem with swept handles either, knuckles hitting or anything. I think the purpose of the swept handle they say is to reduce wobble . Thinking about it a little surprised Daiwa did not patent this handle (dont know if the did and it ran out) since they started this swept handle craze(best of my knowledge they did and if I am wrong someone please correct me)

innsbrook
Me personally I have had the most luck on the 2nd lake, the first lake I dont think is as good, the 3rd lake I have only fished twice and only caught a couple of fish.

Optima Battery VS. Acid Battery ( Life Span )?
I dont know the answer to that question but I have been looking for new batteries for my boat and 3 out of 4 places I have been to have told me the Optimas are not as good as they used to be since they moved their manufacturing.

innsbrook
Innsbrook is at Broad st and Cox road, (from Broad Street), If you go straight down cox you will come to a light and to your left is the first lake, go through that light about 1/4 mile you will see the 2nd lake on the left, then go to nuckols road, cross nuckols staying on cox and you will see another lake on the left

BPS CarbonLite Trigger Rods
I used to not like foam grips but found I like it alot since I got my zillions and feels more comfortable to me now . Indiana Bass1 is right they seem a little tip heavy but sure balances out with the right reel. NOW since I am not on a budget would I buy one, probably not. But for someone who is why not.

BPS CarbonLite Trigger Rods
They have them at the richmond bps and on the shelves, when I went today. They are light feeling and seem pretty well made for the price and probably compare to similar price models from other manufacturers. I know that I could not give up my zillions or imx's for it or even compare them to it. Once again in the 80.00 to 100.00 price range, could easily be compared to vendettas etc. IMO

A gun went off in BPS (Richmond) today
it was loaded but not chambered and the customer informed the employee of that but some other employee decided to pick it up pulled the slide back and shot it at the floor, the gun was put behind the counter behind the employee that was helping the customer What good is a concealed if not loaded.

A gun went off in BPS (Richmond) today
A customer was carrying his concealed handgun, he wanted to see if the gun he was going to purchase would fit in the holster he already had, he put his personal gun on the counter and the employee helping him put the gun behind the counter the customer said it was not chambered. Another associate picks up the gun, chambers it and shoots it into the floor in front of him.

Nitro X4,X5 or Stratos 176XT
I have a X-5 and I love it. Its got alot of storage space and the center rod locker will hold a 7'6" rod, replaced the console finder with a HDS-5 and put one of front as well. It rides pretty well to. Plus my wife works at Bass Pro so I got employee discount on boat as well.

Boat Review/ideas
Its a good boat but you will hate the rod locker its awful. You have to bend your your rods to get them in and the holders will scratch the finish off your rods. I bought one in January, 09 model, hated the rod locker so much I traded it in and got a Nitro X-5. The rod locker on the 175 does not open over the lip of the deck, terrible design.

Yes its worth it. I would have gotten a HDS-8 but I really wanted one at the front and console and couldnt afford 2 8s. So I went with the 5 . If you get it make sure you get insight with it.

electronics
I just got 2 HDS-5 (if your talking about the HDS models) installed on my boat and they are amazing. Both have lake insight. I really havent gone completley through the manual and all the features yet. The menu and pages are easy to navigate through. Ill be on the water Friday, Sat. and Sun. so ill really really get into everything this unit does.
