Finish Peeling off

Featured Replies

I have a Shimano Cricial and the finish is peeling off. Will this ultimately effect the rod or is it only cosmetic?

Thanks

Aside from the cosmetics, anything that could happen to the rod instead of being on the coat is going to be in the graphite material itself. So for example, a scratch instead of scratching the coat is going to scratch the material creating a weak spot and compromising the structural integrity of the blank depending on how deep the scratch is.

Word of advice:

if you call and they tell you they cant do anything about it (unlikely):

Still send the rod into shamano, and they will replace it. I called in and they told me a rod was out of warranty. I sent it in anyway and got a free one in the mail.

Just a head up

I've got a couple Shimano Convergence rods and they came with a lifetime warranty. I can't believe the Crucials don't.
