The only American Rodsmiths rod I own is the David Fritts 7'6" (DF76) fiberglass crankin' rod.I strictly use it for deep crankin' and thats it.I love it.

Hey I know this is the wrong area but what deep cranks would you recoomend to somebody looking to inhance those skills to start with. I have all Rapala's DT Series but really struggle to force myself to do deep cranking.  All advice is appreciated.

My favorites in order are DD22,LC CBD-20,DT16,Manns 20+......look thru the threads on the fishing tackle forum, you'll see other members input on some deep cranks.

Thanks so far you have been the most helpful.  May the bait monkey bless you with a sale.

I use the Fritts crankbait rods too and love them!  I also have a 7 foot medium Carolina rod on my diawa spinning reel and love it!!!  I really like ARs products and plan on using more of them in the future, if you can pry my Tough and Lits outta my hands, LOL

also, don;t overlook the Bandit 300 series. They are very good baits that come with good hooks and in good colors.

For deep crankin, I have what I believe to be the ultimate combo. A St. Croix fiberglass 7' rod with a Shimano Curado 5:1 reel. The rod is too havy for shallow cranks, and the reel is too slow. I see a G Loomis rod in my future, solely for shallow cranks and topwaters. I will pair it with a 6:1 reel and 12-14lb test mono.
