I have a legend tournament that I will be replacing on Warranty. I’m wondering what model would be good for pitching jigs? I already have a 7’2HF Shimano Zodias that I use with fluoro but looking for a second rod that’s a bit lighter for braid or braid to a leader. I really only use 3/8 or 1/2 jigs and typically pitch into laydowns or sparse grass/pads. The lakes I fish don’t have super heavy cover. What model would you choose? 

The 7’3” mh fast is what you want. It’s awesome! Very light weight.  I use it for 1/4-1/2oz bitsy flips a lot, but also with Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, light duty frogs/buzzbaits.

That was my first thought as well. Just worried it might be a bit too light. Sounds like it would work good for what I want though. Thanks for the reply. I’m torn between that, the 7’5 mhf and 7’3 hmf.

Agree with r83srock. The LBTC73MHF "Workhorse". I have that one and the heavy and I don't think I'd want to throw 3/8 jigs on the H. Workhorse seems more versatile, it's a nice rod.

The 7’3” HXF is a darn good stick for that. It’s got a heavy backbone but a soft tip. My go-to rod for pitching 3/8oz-1/2oz jigs. 

I do have the 7’3” HXF in victory. I have been told the equivalent model in legend tournament feels the same. That’s a unique rod for sure and also use for jigs. In the Victory line it’s about as lightweight but a tad more tip heavy. Mh tip with a heavy backbone. Like a very light flipping stick. It often gets thrown into the mix next to my mh fast legend tournament and both do the job perfectly fine.  Specially with braided line I enjoy the legend tournament more. Those two models are hard to choose between.

Do you find yourself reaching for the Legend Tournament because it's a slightly better rod? Or because you like the action more? I assume the 7'3mh is probably more versatile as well?

I do not think the legend tournament is leaps and bounds better, sensitivity is close, but it is better in my hands. 
 

I will say I prefer the 7’3” h XF victory for a little heavier stuff, never mind the rating on the rod. I use it a lot for big Spinnerbaits and 3/4 jigs. It will do lighter stuff too, but the mh fast legend does the 1/4-1/2 stuff better. The mh is more versatile.

They have a lure chart for the victory line and their rod specs are usually about the same across lines. Given that I'd say the 7'3" or 7'5" MH F or the 7'4" H F.

all I can offer is I have and use the legend elite in med/hvy x-fast, 7'3'' I think.  I use it for texas rigs and jigs 1/2 oz to 1/4oz. I have braid on it now, but considering replacing the braid with fluro.

I love the rod! Super sensitive and very comfortable to use. Pitching with it is a pure pleasure. Thinking about getting another, after I save some pennies.
