Abu Garcia Revo SX and STX

Featured Replies

I've been eyeing one of these reels lately based on the rave reviews they have recieved.  But, I can't seem to find that much of a difference between the SX and STX models.  The only feature that I can find that the STX has that the SX doesn't is the Infini Spool 2 system which enhances casting.  Just wondering if there is any other difference out there between the two that warrants the $50 price difference?

The STX has a coated pinion shaft and pawl, supposed to reduce friction improving performance. Ivan

According to the specs, there are 3 differences between the SX and STX:

1  "Titanium nitride wormshaft"

2  "Infini Spool II" - spool is seperated from the drive train during casting

3  "Everslik" coated pinion shaft and pawl

There is a good .pdf comparison on pure fishing's site (or it was) I'll post the link for you if I can find it again.

The Revo's are sure getting some great reviews; the $99 Revo may become the best choice for the under $100 reel shoppers.
