im starting to tournament fish and i want to learn how to use a baitcaster. im looking for a cheap rod and reel combo. i looked at the quantum bill dance combo from bps and the bps bionic blade baitcast combo. can you let me know if these are goods combos or if u know any other good combos and tips about learning how to use a baitcaster.

Being that I dont know your budget, if you add another 20 bucks to the Bionic combo you can get the Shimano Citica/BPS Extreme combo, which is an awesome combo for the price. Would be great to learn on.  As far as tips to learn, when you buy the combo get the set of 3 practice plugs and just practice, practice, practice.

Get the citica combo, It was the first baitcaster I used and It was VERY easy to learn. I got the 7' rod with it.

I just started this year CABELA's Old Prodigy has an Aluminum frame , 8bbs and dual brakes all for 69 bucks and i am happy with mine.
