New fly rod

Featured Replies

The fiberglass flyrod I built 30+ years ago finally gave up the ghost so I ordered a Cabela's SLi kit to replace it.  Next day Cabela's sent me a backorder email so I cancelled and ordered a Okuma Magnitude 9'  8 weight along with a large arbor SLV reel.  The whole thing including shipping was $127.

Man, what a  difference 30 years of technology makes!  The new rod is about half the diameter of the old one, substatially lighter and the action is much more crisp.  Can't wait until the bass are in the shallows.   :o
