Line stretch

Featured Replies

It's a proven and widely accepted fact that braid is the lowest stretch of all fishing lines bass fisherman are likely to use.

Somone posted some interesting tests on line strecth a while ago.

I'm wondering if there is any update on this.

I'm curious that with the new generation of mono, colpolymers, fluorocarbons, and assorted hybridized versions of all the above, if perhaps there isn't a truly low stretch non braided line out there.

Anyone?

I saw the test, and it was very informative.  I tried to find the link, but couldn't find it.  I do remember that the lowest stretching copolymers were Pline CXX, Yozuri Hybrid, Trilene Sensation, and Sten Original.  Pline Fluoroclear and most of the fluorocarbon lines like Seaguar were semi-stretchy, and resided in the middle of the pack.  The stretchiest lines were Pline CX premium, Trilene XL, Suffix, and a couple of others.  As you can see with the least stretchy lines, memory is there, but I don't find it bothersome.  The memory seems to disappear when you start fishing with the line.

It's a known fact the older you get the less memory and line stretch you have
