Yep. I've got a 6' med action Allstar Classic I use for jerkbaitin, a 6' med Crankin stick I use for short range cranks and a 6' mh Extreme I use for spinnerbaiting.  I'm not real big on rods longer than 6 1/2 foot except for flippin or C-rigs.

Sure do, I have custom 6'ers for spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits. Have used them for worms, jerkbaits, etc.

My favorite size for jerkbaits too.

Two All Star 'sixers'.  Medium power for jerkbaits and a heavy power for flippin'/skippin' docks.

A 6' rod is better to use around docks you will have more control of your casts and it is easy to skip with them. :( ;D

I have a 6ft spinning rod, and have a 6ft casting rod on my wish list.  I'm looking hard at the Steez 6 footer.  A 6ft baitcasting rod is ideal for walking-the-dog and working hard jerkbaits.  I use my 6ft Avid spinning rod for hard jerkbaits most of the time with 8lb fluoro.  Also, I like a short rod for swimming paddle tail worms and jigs.

I have a few 6 foot pistol grips love um for short range with jigs and spinner baits i have 5-6 ones also BTW anyone have any pistol grips laying around ??  for sale??

Almost all of my fishing is done in small lakes, farm ponds or old river runs. Nine times out of ten it is always tight with over-grown weeds, trees really close to the water, low hanging limbs or all of the above. I fished 5'6" for a whole lot of years and finally stepped up to a 6' M Bionic Blade for one of my casting set ups and a 6' MH Berkely Bionix (I just got it at Wal-Mart on sale for a really good price) for a spinning rig. I got a gift certificate for X-Mas that I'm holding onto until they have a sale at Bass Pro for a 5'6" M pistol grip. I guess it's true what they say about old dogs and new tricks.

From reading most of the posts and watching TV, I thought I was the only one left that fished shorter rods with pistol grips. Glad to know that is not quite the truth.....

I have a custom spiral wrapped 5' 6" Lamiglas MH fast that I use for pitching and skipping under low hanging limbs, docks, etc. It replaced a 5' 6" Hank Parker Jig & Pig that I used for many years. I love fishing with it.

with my pistol grips i can cast med range or short way better then with my trigger rods no clue why they aint as popular now as back then i suppose diff styles of fishing BUT still a pistol grip to me is a nessescity

A lot of custom builders like Ronnie and myself, still wrap pistol grips in the 5'6" lengths. Here is one I have on my site...

The one that I built doesn't either, at least not like RMs. Remeber this rod is only 5' 6", so balancing the rod called for a rather short split grip, but I like the way it turned out. The picture is the grip from my Lamiglas MH.
