Looking for lakes ponds and rivers in carson city nevada

Featured Replies

I moved to carson city nevada recently and need help trying to find body's of water with shore access within about 1 1/2 hour drive. I have had luck finding one spot off of USA parkway that has a few connecting ponds and follows along the trucky river,  but have yet to find anything else and that spot gets fished pretty heavily and regularly to a point where I'm having to rely on finnes and sight fishing bass. You don't need to give me GPS coordinates and specifics as where to cast. I just need a little help getting some kind of information.

I have been there, and fished the Carson River and Washoe Lake. Can't say I caught anything, but it was early season and water was very high everywhere. I heard there are smallmouth in the Carson River(it is small, a stream), and I believe it. I think it is also stocked with brown trout.  If you really want to catch fish, spend the rest of your days fishing lake Tahoe.

Walley’s hot spring ponds otherwise golf course ponds or travel 1 1/2 -2 hrs or so to CA’s hwy 49 foothill lakes,

Tool maker I used lived in Carson City and had a plane to fly wherever he wants to fish and  the Colorado River lakes to bass fish.
