Calcutta conquest dc 100 vs 200

Featured Replies

Looking into getting a Calcutta conquest dc but can’t decide what size to get. I have a conquest bfs and I love it, it’s super comfortable to fish. I know the bfs is the same size as the 100 but I’m worried that’s too small for some applications. And the drag on the 100 is only 4 kg. I’m not sure if the 100 would suffice for general bass fishing applications. I have not felt a 200 but I’m worried it might be too large for all around bass fishing and I’m not looking for a swimbait reel atm. Basically I’m worried the 100 is too small and the 200 is too big for an all around bass fishing rod. Probably gonna pair it with a 7’ MH rod and I’d like it to be an all around bass rod. If anyone could tell me which one would be a better all around bass reel I would greatly appreciate it.

100 will be fine. 200 is for 1/2 - 2 oz lures IMO.

and on to 4 oz.

I would consider Conquest 200 size for offshore slow-jigging.

(Livre makes a trick spool-tension lever just for this - quick-adjust fall rate on your slow jig)
