Everglades rim canal

My neighbor and I went to Arthur Marshall Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge this morning, it's 11 miles from my neighborhood.  We used his Bass Tracker. On the water 7 am, temp 71°, light fog, cloudy, no wind. Last month went south, today north about 4 miles. Warmed up to 82°, wind picked up from the south. Stopped fishing at 1 pm. Caught about 30 between us, quite a variety: 75% Largies, biggest landed about 3 lbs. I lost a big one, probably 5 lb, my fault!

We Caught Peacocks, Mayan Chiclids, Oscars, Gar, Bluegill, .and 1 big Talapia, on a crankbait no less. Most of my fish came on Flukes, Ned's, and Senkos. My biggest bass on a Rattlin Rapala. Fun day!

That sounds like an awesome time! I'd love to get down and fish that region one day.

Nice variety. Kept you busy.  😎

Congrats, and thanks for sharing.  Have caught a lot of big bass around the control gates when there is slight current flowing.  Always found peacock scare out there.  A lot more peacock on the Alley.  Usually a quite peaceful fishing trip out there.

Not much current although water seems high. Maybe keeping the level up to keep the gators happy! We saw a lot of them!
