Anyone recently purchase from Gomexus?

Featured Replies

I’m curious if anyone has placed an order since the tariff changes?  I’m wanting to know if the stated prices include the tariff charges, or will I be charged an extra 30% from Fedex/UPS when the item is delivered?

Please don’t make this into a political post. I’m just trying to determine if an item will cost $34 or $44 dollars.

Amazon keeps Gomexus stock in US (also sell new imports), and if it's already here, it won't have tariff - see if you can find what you want there first.

If you’re ordering from main land China you’d be hard pressed to get it via FedEx or UPS, they typically use snail mail coming out of China and there are difficulties for anything coming out of Hong Kong via USPS.

Thanks for the heads up @bulldog1935.  Unfortunately they don’t carry the reel model I was looking for. I can only find it for sale on the Gomexus site.

@F14A-Bthe website said all US sales would be shipped via Fedex or UPS. Who knows if it’s still valid.

Actually, it makes sense they would be more likely to ship UPS or FedEx with the tariff, because both couriers can bill you for the import duty.

The typical drill is you get the duty as a separate invoice in the mail after they deliver your package.

I've never bought enough from Japan at once to exceed the de minimus exemption - on purpose - but people I know who imported packages valued $800 to $2400 described the courier invoice drill.

I did some more digging for you.  USPS is not accepting packages from China (except cleared through onshore customs broker), because they have no way to collect import duty.

China still has de minimus exemption on any personal use (non-commercial) package valued less than $800 - no tariff, no duty, no invoice.
