reel ?s

Featured Replies

I what to know which reel you all think is better a shimano cruxis or a Pflueger Trion. I really dont want to spend more than 100$ and both of these reels are right at 99, but if you think there is a better reel for a little more feel free to add, but still tell me which of these two you like best.

As a member of the Shimano posse I am required to say the Cruxis.  I actually owned 3 Pflugers and I have replaced all of them with Shimano's.

Now...off the record...for $99 bucks I would take a long hard look at the Abu Garcia Revo S.  It's the best under 100 dollar reel available.

thanks hawgin I have always liked abu garcia. I didnt even look at any abus because I was looking for a LP reel. Again thanks for letting me know about this reel it sounds good and is my new front runner for my new reel. :o

I have 3 Cruxis, 2 Citica's and 1 Pfluegar Criterion.  I am old, retired and cheap.  I immediately breakdown a new reel and clean it.  I relube with either Quantum Hot Sauce or Ardent Reel Butter.  If blind folded I can tell little to no difference in these reels---would bet most fishermen couldn't.  Got most at Academy and some on eBay.  I fish 3-4 days a week and these work just fine.

I have a few lighty used Pfluger Presidents.... wide spools or small spool baitcasters that I would give you a great deal on ....PM me if you like.

I would like to thank everyone for the replys I went to bass pro on sat and bought a abu garcia revo s and it is a really nice reel even better than I expected. I have not been able to really go fishing with it yet but I was able to cast it off of the dock for a few mins and it is a very smooth reel. 8-)
