Anyone use these?

They are a new way to identify a fish by clipping on the rear soft dorsal not the spiny one.
Not used as a traditional cull tag to pull a fish out of the well, just to mark them

Not a chance, I do not even like the ones that clip to the lip as I have seen way to many come off.

I agree with you.
The cull tabs I use tell me what I want to know.
They seem to be the new thing at least I’ve never heard about them.
Seems like a gimmick to me

I use the Ardent dial up cull tags. I put the weight in, clip it on and away I go.

I have no doubt the fin clip ones are better for the fish while in the well, especially smaller fish.

But with the lip ones I can grab, balance beam, and cull much faster and with less handling and time out of the water though....

So what's better/worse overall?  I don't know, but for now at least I plan to stay on the side of being efficient.  There's no perfect method.

I've seen a few pros using them this year. I won't be joining the trend. I hate it when a lip tag slips off and I have to go digging through my livewell for a fish. I can't imagine voluntarily doing that every time I need to cull.
