Choosing three baitcast rods?

Featured Replies

I recently sold off most of my rods to switch all over to Shimano Crucials.  This leaves me with few good rods.  Since I only need three rods at this time I am looking for everyones suggestion on what Crucial baitcast rods I should buy.  Basically looking for what power/action I should look at getting for each seperate rod to have a good all around group for most techniques.

P.S. I did keep my Loomis 844 so I don't need a rod for jig, frog, etc. fishing.

This would be my recommendations (these are all Shimano Crucials as requested):

CRC-C66M (6'6" Medium Power, Med. Fast Action): Shallow Crankbaits, Jerkbaits, & Topwater

CRC-X68M (6'8" Medium Power, X-Fast Action): Spinnerbaits & Buzzbaits

CRC-X70M (7'0" Med-Heavy, X-Fast Action): T-Rigs & Soft Plastics

If I were you, I would add a Crucial Spinning rod to the line-up to serve as a finesse and Drop Shot Rod.  With those five set-ups (including the G Loomis 844), you should be ready to face any situation.  This is just my humble opinion and what I would get if I were you.

I just bought a crucial today at cabelas. i got the 6'10" mh i didnt get to actually fish with it but it seems really nice and i think you will be hapyy with any one you get
