For those who throw Jerk Shadz, what weight ZWG hook do you think is ideal for rivers?

Featured Replies

I got some of the 1/8 oz but they seem to fall way too fast (5” Jerk Shadz, 4/0 hook.)

Is 1/16 the only other option? I know the chin lockz came in some weird sizes like 1/12, I feel like that would be ideal although I remember throwing the 1/8 in those and it didn’t feel nearly as heavy.

It certainly depends on the current.

If I threw a 1/8 here, I'd be spooled before it ever hit bottom! LOL 😆

So too heavy?

No I mean for me it would be too light...it would never hit the bottom here because the current is so strong.....I'd run out of line before the weight hit bottom. It would be little deeper than sub surface here.

I'm usually throwing 3/8 th here.

So it really depends on current.

What about throwing them in slower current or laminar flow?

I'm afraid I don't have that answer.
