Hi vis yellow suffix

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the yellow Suffix line?  Is it visible to fish?  If so, is that ok. When and where should

I use it.  I know its going to be visible to me, but other than that, what are the advantages/disadvantages?

I have not used that line, but I'm sure it's visible to fish, and I'm equally sure that more muted colors of line are visible too. As to whether it affects the fishing, I have no idea. There are fishernen who believe it makes no difference and others who think it deters strikes. You probably need to experiment and draw your own conclusions and learn whether you can use it with confidence.

I can't think of an advantage other than visibility to the angler and can't think of a disadvantage other than deterring strikes, if that is what you believe.

Personally, I feel better fishing clear lines, but that is not based on any actual evidence.

On gin clear water it may have an effect if you are fishing slow tactics . you can always add a fluoro leader. I personally think it doesn't matter when you are throwing fast moving baits ( CRANKS, SPINNER BAITS). Just my opinion.

I use HiVis Yellow for everything and tie direct. What I do is color the last 6' or so with black sharpie. Turns it a greenish color.
