BPS Pro Qualifier Rods?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone is using them and what you think. I see they are on sale for $79 normally $119 seems like a decent deal.

I am just starting to built up gear and looking for something decent at a good price.

I have a avid ac66mf and ac70mf and still need a couple more rods.

I just want a good rod that is sensitive and wont break, is to high of a graphite rating mean it will break easier? just wonderign seems the more sensitive the weaker it would become.

Thanks to all

Steve

Never used that particular rod but you are correct the high graphite rods are more likely to break if you aren't more careful with them.

my dad bought one on sale last weekend and really likes it.  For $79 I would have to agree that it is a great deal.  just my thought.

I got one as part of a curado combo deal on sale.  It was $229 for the 100D and this rod.  It's an ok rod, I'd never give $119 for it and probably not $79.  It's been passed down to my son now.  A Falcon Lowrider can be found on sale at that price from time to time.  Also, if you can find a Berkley Series One it's a great rod, light and sensitive, for that kind of money.  JMHO, big

I need three more rods, I would love to get three more avids but have a ton of other stuff I need to spend money on.  I guess should I just wait till I have the extra money for the avids? What about the premier series? I have heard bad things.  :-/

If I were you , I would get the avids , a great rod .

According to the rod guy I talked to at BPS he sees about 20 of those BPS Pro Qualifier rods come back broke vs. the Bionic blade or the Xtreme.... I bought those over the Qualifier after he told me that.  and I love those rods... really nice action on them.

I love the Pro Qualifier.  I think it's the best rod that BPS makes.  I didn't know they were on sale...guess I'll pickup another one....or two..... :)

I like the avids better then I do the premiers but the premiers are awsome rods. I like all the rods st.croix makes, even the triumph series makes an awsome ultralight setup for the money.
