Mustang Elite Auto - 120 or 190?

Featured Replies

I need to get another life jacket for the boat. I have a MIT 70 or 100 (would have to go look) and a MIT-150 for passengers. Sometimes I might have two passengers, and I got to thinking about the Elite series which are probably better when on plane and going fast. So if I need another, might be able to improve my situation, and I started thinking I can wear a much meatier PFD when it is cold too. I like the tiny inflatable most of the year though, it's hot here.

Is the 120 vs 190 elite simply amount of flotation? I'm about 210lbs.

While I may have a bit more experience with Life Jackets than the average bear,

I would not promote myself as an expert.

Best advice may be to contact Mustang Survival directly.

Either way, my version of it is that both are great options

but seem to be designed for slightly different uses.

The 120 is more of what I'd use as a recreational fisherman on inland or near-shore oceanic adventures. Has plenty of flotation.

The 190 may be more appropriate for offshore/open ocean-type area uses.

It has a bit more of a beefed-up build and features not likely needed on Lake Menderchuck.

Both could save a life.

Stay Safe
