Daiwa Capricorn's available at Dicks

Featured Replies

My partner just picked up a Capricorn at Dicks. Looks like they are a Dicks exclusive, since the Tierra was supposed to replace it.  $79.99 from what he said.

10 bucks cheaper with this: (hopefully the file attaches otherwise PM me and I'll send you the coupon)

Dick's just opened in Tampa and they sell the Capricorn for $139.99. If they had them for $79.99 I would have bought 2. Might have to go check them out today after work and make sure.

At the local Dick's here they have the old model of the Capricorn on sale for $60 and also the newer version that replaces that one for around $80-$100 I believe... I almost bought older one but ended up getting a bps extreme lite instead... Capricorn looked pretty decent though...

Oh ya, will that coupon work at any Dick's store? Thanks!

I bought one last year when they were on sale for $60 and took it back the next day.  I thought it was a piece of junk and wouldnt have paid $30 for it.  I hope this newer one or version is much better.  Good luck.

FYI... that coupon did work for me. I just got back from Dick's; I bought a Shimano Convergence 2-piece 6'6"M casting rod for $40, plus some other stuff and I got the $10 off... that rod is pretty sweet for $40!

Went today and the new reel was $139.99 or you can get a 6'6" St. Croix Triumph rod with it for the same price.

Wierd. I went to the same store that he bought his, and they were 79.99. It's the orangey copper colored Capricorn.

Got one of the new ones (coppery-orange )colour at Dick's for $80; feels OK but I wonder if  Daiwa got the bugs worked out ?! Didn't fish it yet, and I don't own the older model. What kind of problems were the most frequent with the older version???

I've seen 3 more old Capricorns (right handed) for $60 each at the same store. Any body wants one I'll pick it up (you pay reel +tax +shipping).

Tight lines

I might have to ask them why they cost so much here. Where are you located?

Rhode Island and Southeast Mass.

I saw the Daiwa Capricorn (the older model) for $60 at Dick's in Cleveland.  I looked at it, but it didn't seem that smooth or well built.  I ended up getting the Quantum Accurist II for $53.00.   It seems like a great reel.
