zillion maintenance?

Featured Replies

I bought a daiwa zillion (JDM) and the manual is in japaneese . It has some drawings in the maintenance section so I could pretty much figure it out . The drawing shows the bearing being lubed with the little bottle of oil that came with the reel but where the level wind is it looks like they are spraying some sort of lube . Anyone know what kind of spray this is? I dont want to cause dammage to my new reel.

They are probably using some kind of high grade lubricant like Friction Zero or Rocket Fuel (EXPENSIVE).  I bet you Reelmech could tell you what to use.  I would trust his judgement on this application. :)

It is not that expensive. Rocket Fuel 1 oz., $ 10.00, Quantum Hot Sauce .75 oz, $ 7.50.

I use ReelMech oil in my Zillion

your zillion should have came with oil .... bolth of mine had oil .... i believe ill just be useing that oil on my zillions ....

Everyone here know's my take on Hot Sauce.

I look at it this way if Daiwa®, Shimano®, Garcia®, and the rest (with the exception of Quantum®) wanted Hot Sauce used in their reels they would supply a small amount in the reel box. Quantum® doesn't even include it in the reel box's that they made it for.

I know of service shops that will place an extra service charge on any reels, that have Hot Sauce used in them....

Just my .02¢
