My girlfriend just got me the red Abu Garcia TGC 5000c Reel Combo for my birthday. I am die hard Shimano spinning reel user and never really got into the baitcasters. I have s Mitchell Copperhead baitcaster that I use every once in a while but I seem to get the "birds nest" atleast once while using it. I do plan on using this 5000c and would appreciate ANY advice on what size line or types of line that would be best for this reel to prevent backlash. I know Abu Garcia makes great reels and I want to give this one a shot.

So basicly ..what type of line? Brand? Size?

Berkly Big game 12 lb will work great on it.Its not a finese  reel but trust me once u get to throwing it u will be amazed at what u can do with it !!
