Need tips for making my own jigs

First attempt became a finesses jig because the upper or “outer” stands wanted to shoot forward over the head of the jig. I used a rubber collar ring for the first one. I’ll try a wire wrap and also try leaving the strands longer on the next one. That should keep them from wanting to angle forward so much.

I tried to attach a photo but it was too big.

Sometimes shortening the inside strands and leaving the outside longer helps. Just cut the ouster strands off that one into a finesse cut.

It’s funny you say that. I cut the first one into a finesse. On the second try I left all strands longer overall, and cut the inner strands shorter than the outer strands. It came out better, although the strands still want to open up a bit. Looking forward to making some more.

Nothing wrong with that jig at all! Go catch some fish on it man. And they will flare and flow different when wet. Some of my rubber jigs look nuts till they are wet. That’s a good looking jig. Enjoy catching fish on something you made. If ya ever need anything feel free to message me
