Iam looking at getting a new muskie reel and need your thoughts on a few reels. I was looking at the Shimano Corvalus for muskie fishing. Has any one used it? But for a few dollers more I can get a Shimano Cardiff. What do you guys think I should get? I would aslo like to stay in the shimano family love the curados. So I could really use your help.

Never used either model but here's a review of the Cardiff.  Many guys find the Curado a fine reel.  Here's a mini-review of the Corvalus.

I have used a friend's Corvalus and it seems like a good basic reel.  However, most of the hardcore muskie anglers I know choose Ambassadeurs at that price point.  The only Shimanos I know that are regularly used for muskies are the Calcuttas, which will set you back about $300 +.  I am sure the Shimano will work fine.  I suspect the Abu guys are doing so out of tradition.
