Thanks for the jig assembly advice

Featured Replies

I posted on here a little while ago and got some great advice from a few folks. Just wanted to say thanks for being friendly and helpful. I haven’t tried wire wrapping the collar yet, maybe next week. I’m able to create custom color combos now that aren’t available locally. I wanted to use a bit of orange after watching a YouTube video about how bass interpret color. Now I wait for the ice to melt so I can get this in front of some bass. Tight lines everyone.

Looks great NW

@NWfishing Very nice!! Since you're doing a flat eye jig, you can purchase bladed jig blades (10 for $4) and make your own! Just need the blades, split rings and duo lock snaps.

I use 210d waxed thread to do my spinnerbaits and jigs so I can layer the colors. When finished , I use water based head cement on the thread, let dry a few minutes and wrap with wire. #24 on heavy flippin jigs, #26 general use, #28 on finesse stuff. Usually 3 wraps is good. Just be careful twisting the ends, too tight will snap the wire.

The wire is insurance in heavy cover.
