kb here   i think i need a new reel  was looking at abu revo's     what is the difference between the sx-hs and the stx-hs    other than $50.00   i have allways liked abu garcia  i have 5 reels in the torno series and like them a lot.   have had them for about 4 years or when they first came out every time something goes bad i send it to abu and they fix or relpace for  n.c.   want to put this reel on a 5"-6"  pistol grip st croix rod  mf  for small to med cranks and 1/4 oz spinnerbaits   do i have the wrong gear raito 7.1:1   the way i fish a spinner  as soon as it hits the water ia'm cranking  with a crank ill let it sit about 5 seconds then crank  like hell   thanks   kb

Here is the link to a .pdf file with the details of each, print them and compare side by side... there are several differences in each of the models. Should answer all of your questions and give you a feel for whether or not the extra $50 is justified.

edit to add:  I'm not a fan of the high speed reels... it wasn't long ago that high speed had the same ipt as today's "normal" speed.  I'd rather turn the handle faster than have to slow it way down.  I haven't ever seen a lure or presentation that I couldn't perform even at the old abu standard 5.3:1 reels.  

The regular speed (6.4:1) Revo's are 27.5" IPT which is pretty quick.  The Revo 7.1:1 is a blazing 31" per turn!  The fish down here don't swim fast enough to warrant that gearing.  ...lol
