Ok so i need to get a flippin stick for flipping of course  : and also a rod for swimbaiting.

I also need a reel too.  

What gear ratio would i want on a reel to put on my flipping stick when flipping/pitching in heavy cover?

Thinking about maybe getting a Revo-S or a Revo-SX but the gear ratio is a standard 6:4:1, i think 7:1:1 is available though also

What gear ratio do you guys suggest?

As for the rod, im thinking on getting a St.Croix premier 7"6 H ..this a good choice?

If you recommend any rods/or reels for flipping or pitching please say so.

First I think you need to ask yourself a couple of questions.  Is it flip only, or flip/pitch?  What kind of cover most of the time?  Most folks opt for higher retrieve (6+:1) for flipping, and certainly for pitching because of line retrieval.   Lower geared reels have more power if that is important to you.  I flip with a 3.8:1 Curado on a Falcon Cara heavy flip stick.  I figure I don't have that much line out anyways and I am often in heavy grass so I want the power.  I pitch with 6.2:1 on a 6'10 Falcon pitch stick.  The 3.8 is very slow if you are used to higher speeds, and you may not be happy with one geared that low.  Just something else to think about.

I have 2 main rigs for flipping and pitching...

1. Shimano Curado 200B 6.3:1 gear ratio reel on a 7' MH action Kistler rod

2. Shimano Citica CI-200 6.3:1 gear ratio reel on a 7' Heavy action Daiwa Flippin' Stik.

#1 is used mainly for pitching jigs and light t-rigs around thick cover with 15lb test fluorocarbon line.

#2 is used mainly for flipping heavy jigs and t-rigs into heavy cover and for throwing frogs over heavy weeds with 50lb test braid.

That being said I prefer a fast reel, like 6.3:1 or faster, for flipping/pitching because it allows you to remove the bait from unproductive water and get another cast into a good spot much quicker.

As far as reels go, I like a faster reel with at least 25 IPT, for not other reason than that is what I have always used, and what I am comfortable with. For a rod, last season I bought a new 7'6" H BPS Extreme telescoping handle "flipping" rod........I liked it at first, but as the season wore on it fell out of favor with me, it was too heavy, and I thought the sensitivity lost in the telescoping handle out weighed the extra 6" of rod you got. That rod has been sold, and replaced with a 7' Heavy/Fast St Croix Premier, first and formost I bought this rod for frogs, but will also double for flipping, I have also flipped  with a 7' MH/Fast Fenwick rod in the past and liked that alot, that will return to that duty as well. I like all my other Extreme rods, but that 7'6" beast was just not right for me. I use braid only on any thing that will be used in heavy cover, I like the smaller diameter 20 and 30 lb test braids, some don't, I have also used 50 lb braid, and thats what most guys will recomend.

For a rod, look at the Shimano Crucial series.  One piece 7'6" blank for $150.

I like a small, fast reel, like a Pflueger Summit or a Revo 7.1:1
