Florocarbon line for crankbait rod??

Featured Replies

I have a baitcaster reel,  which was used for drop shotting,  spooled up with florocarbon line.   i only used it 2 or three times.  Over the winter i purchased a shimano crucial drop shot rod and  im going to be using the baitcaster for crankbaits.  I was wondering if it would be ok  to leave the floro on the reel or change it up.  Because of the expense of the line and its low usage i want to get a season out of it.  What do you guys think??/

You can absolutely use it for crankbaits.  I know guys who use flouro for every application.  Despite the myth the flouro doesn't stretch, recent tests have shown it to have as much, or in some cases more stretch than mono.
