considering a new kayak. I want one for ocean, one for fresh.

I went fishing yesterday with two other people. they both had similar kayaks. they were long, sleek, fast. I took my Hobie Outback. I had a few problems. 1st was the long 1/2 mile hike in to the beach. double BUMMER that I had to drop an elevation of 140 feet. down was easy. 2nd, the overly exciting beach launch. waves were hammering, and I had to study the waves for a while before I figured there were two basher waves followed by 4 survivable smaller waves. I stowed my rods inside my friends kayaks to retrieve out in calmer waters, past the breakers. I didnt flip. 3rd. out in the water, they were so much faster!! they could cut thru waves at 4mph without effort. it was sick to watch. coming in from the ocean, they both landed first and met me at the edge to help me. no yard sale. I had my rods inside their kayaks anyways. safe.

now I want one. a Stealth Kayak. a non bass fishing kayak. purely for the salt. fast, long distance, stable..

I would have to pull it into my garage rafters for storage. but easy since it is so light.

dragging my tugboat up that hill almost ended me. I swear I saw the light at the end of my tunnel. it was ugly, and I jog 3-miles everyday. I was tired like mountain climbing, elk bow-hunting tired.

I see this in my future. figuring out the fish finder transducer will be interesting. but I know people do it.

I already have a name for that boat.

"Angler Management". hahahaha

The lake I live next to has a rowing venue and all summer there are people out in long narrow kayaks paddling in groups with a boat directing them. I've never timed them but they are fast.
