Had one of those "I've got to share this" moments on today's Miami peacock bass charter.

My clients both set the hook at nearly the same time. At first, we thought they had crossed lines or each had a fish on. As the fish got closer to the boat, it became obvious what was happening...

They had both hooked the exact same peacock bass!

I've been guiding for a few years, and this is only the second time I've ever seen two anglers land the same fish simultaneously. The odds of it happening have to be incredibly small.

The fish was healthy, released to fight another day, and the guys got a memory they'll be talking about for a long time.

Anyone else here ever witnessed two anglers hook the same bass at the same time? I'd love to hear your stories!

That's a new one on me. The best I can do is catching white bass two at a time while fishing with a double fly crappie rig with a float at the old TVA John Sevier Steam Plant in Tennessee, and using that same rig to catch crappie two at a time. I've also caught bluegill and largemouth (very small ones) two at a time using a rig with a small popping bug with a 2 inch floating Rapala tied about 20 inches behind it.

How close did they cast to each other??

Not bass, but I've saw a steelhead and a lake trout eat two different spawn bags on set lines in the great lakes before while still fishing. Two guys hooked up on the same fish.

Here's the craziest part. One angler was rear left, and casted behind the boat. The other angler was front left and he casted in front of the boat. My boat is almost 19 feet long.
