Pass on a Good Word

Featured Replies

I just had a custom rod made for me from a guy who lives in the Lehigh Valley, PA. I would like to pass his name and contact information onto you guys. I would like to state that in no way and I affiliated, nor do I collect compensation from him. He did an AMAZING job. It is bar none the best rod I have ever held. As I mentioned earlier, I do not benefit from this, I am just extremely pleased with his professionalism and his workmanship. If you are looking for a custom rod and you live in the area, you should consider him.

I was pretty particular about the reel seat and cork grip section on this rod. He took the time to craft a grip that was one of a kind and just what I had in mind. He crafted me a 6'6 MH Casting rod. It was built on a Lamiglas blank. His accessories are all Fuji. With my rod and reel together, this combo weights 10 ounces!!

I do not wish to catch any "heat" from this post, I just want to pass on the a good word. I will post pictures of the rod tonight when I get a chance.

The name of his business is "Wayne's Custom Rods." He is located in Northampton, PA. His phone number is (610) 730-7016. You can also email his at waynesrods@rcn.com.

Check him out, I am VERY pleased with what he constructed for me.

Your post is no different than someone praising Loomis or St. Croix, I'm sure it's fine with Glenn and the mods.

Congrats on the new rod.  IMO, all custom rods should be made for the customer as your's was... that's why it's custom. (but many "customs" are not)  Can't wait to see the pics.

PARockHopper,

That's what I like about having the client come into my shop when they want a build. Where you able to visit his shop for the fittings? There is nothing better than a one on one relationship between the angler and builder. Measurements can be taken, the client can even view some of the processes as they are done.

Your very lucky to have found a builder close enough to you (if you were able to visit the shop), to have it done.

Enjoy your new rod, and don't forget the pic's...

Tight Lines!!!
