Sunline aside, two best fluoros available.

Featured Replies

Sunline being excluded for this post I am looking for the two best pure flurocarbon lines that have these qualitys in order.

-Least stretch

-Least memory

-Most limp

Name two fluorocarbon lines that fit this bill and please exclude Sunline in your two recommendations. I will be buying a spool of each that is the most recommened for my above listed needs. The line will be spooled on both my tuned up Daiwa Zillion and my Daiwa Steez.

Thanks for your replys.

I have had good luck with BPS XPS Flurocarbon. It is actually made by Toray (Japanese). I have also heard great comments on Seaguar Invisx. Hope this helps.

Good luck. You are probably going to get 50 different answers here. :;) ;D

I have not found a Fluro that I like. There have been many praises on here about BPS XPS Fluro so I just bought a spool mainly for c-rig leaders, but it seems pretty limp and maneagable. I might even give it shot on reel this summer.

Just my $.02

+1.  The BPS fluoro is not only great line, it is a great value and available in 1000yd bulk spools.  Indeed it is Toray line.  The Seaguar Inviz-X/Cabelas No-Viz Xtra is very limp and castable, but it has a little too much stretch for my liking.

It gets bad-mouthed a lot, but I haven't had a reason to try anything other than Berkley Vanish.

Bps xps.  maybe the best flouro out there and can't beat the price.

Sunline.

#1 Pline ! has the highest knot strength of all fluoros

#2 Vanish

#3 Seaguar (my first year testing it, need to give it time)

I bought the new p-line Halo...and love it so far.....I used Vanish last year and must say I liked it also...but the halo seems better in every way to me....very strong and it will not fall of my spinning reels and get all twisted like the vanish did.....

Why is it every post you make it has to do with your tuned up Zillion or your new Megabass rod, and now the Steez. We get it GAMEOVER, you have a couple of nice fishing toys. ;D

Just jerking your chain man,  I like nice reels and rods too!! ;)

;D

I just thought id mention the reels it would be spooled on as maybe someone used the same line theyd recommend on the reels I said im spooling it on. Some one still hasnt learned how to read, I said Sunline aside ;). BPS Fluoro is indeed made by Toray and thats excellent but im just putting my feelers out there to see if maybe there's another fluoro that gets high marks aside from the ones already known. I have some Sunline as well but in order to get the ultra-high-end JDM tackle I crave I have to cut costs somewhere and figured maybe I could get away with line price without sacrificing quality. Ill pick up some Halo right now but I have this bad feeling in the pit of me wallet that ill be sticking with Sunline FC Sniper.  >:o

GAMEOVER,

Give the Yo-Zuri Hybrid a try if you haven't already. Some people don't like it but I have used it with no problems at all. You can pick a spool up for around $7.00 most places. BTW, I really was just kidding with ya about the reels. It's nice to see another JDM tackle fanatic on the boards once in a while. Makes me feel better to know there are a few other nuts out there.

;D I hear ya Jimzee.. I gave the YoZuri Hybrid two chances and hated them both times. It wasnt so stiff id like it a lot better. Plus its a copoly and not 100% Fluoro ;) I loved its toughness and low-strech but its stiffness ruined it for me.

To be honest so far my favorites been the Gamma Edge fluoro. Im a diehard braid lover on the inside but braid wont get used on certain rods I own for certain situations. So being a braid lover I naturally love low-stretch, sinking, easy handling lines. This Gamma is super expensive at 27 dollars a filler spool but its the only Fluoro aside from FC Sniper I feel worthy right now. Id have the P-line Halo to try still and the Invizx. I went today to buy the Halo and Invizx but they had neither, I did pick up another spool of Gamma though.. for 19.00 I could refuse it.

Let me know how that Gamma works for ya.  I'm always lookin for new things to try. ;)

yea that halo is some sweet looking flour ..... i will try this halo 15lb on my jig rod .... the guy at sportsmans said he is using it ..... he said it was good stuff .....
