I use both types but just looking to get some opinions.   I gotta get an ultralite rig and also a catfishing rig(preferably a white rod).

I use spincast for panfish and a baitcast for catfish. I've yet to figure out the proper way to lay a spinning reel on the ground and keep the line tight at the same time on a spincast it's much easier. I use a cheap baitcaster for the catfish so they don't hurt the weaker spincast reels.

If you're going to be bream fishing get a micro spincast reel. Zebco makes the best. You'll think you have a 7lb bass on the line when you catch a fish .
