Most versatile rig?

Featured Replies

Being a guy on a budget, I can only have a few rod and reel combos for bass fishing. What is 1 or 2 examples of effective budget minded rod and reel combinations that will allow me be successful using various techniques? I have purchased a Pflueger Medalist, and put it on a 7ft Cherrywood medium action rod, and I have acquired a new Shimano Citica that i placed on a cheap 6 ft Zebco casting rod. I know these aren't the fancy rigs some of you fellas own, but I thought I was special buying my old Bass Tracker last month:) I just need to be able to fish a number of situations with a few setups.... Any thoughts are appreciated,                               NRALOVER

i have 3 setups i use, two casting and one spinning...

spinning-abu garcia cardinal($33) 6' MH berkley bionix($50)weightless/light stuff/topwaters

casting-abu garcia 5501($75) 6' MH berkley cherrwood($20)t-rigs/jigs

casting-abu garcia 5501($75)6'6" M berkely cherrywood($20)cranks/spinnerbaits

dont know if that helps but i am kinda on a budget as well...that $50 bionix rod is alot for me to spend on a rod....you can get all this stuff at walmart...but not the 5501's...never have seen a left handed casting reel at walmart...but they do have the rightys
