Backing Question

Featured Replies

This weekend im having a club tournament on a lake and I know its going to be a serious frogging day.

My current reel has 12lb yo zuri-hybrid on it but im willing to swap it out for the braid I have. like 30lb powerpro.

I want to make sure I dont loose any fish in that slop because of stretch.

Ive never added backing on any reel before unles sit was for braid not slipping. The spool of powerpro I own is only 125 yards so I want to get the most out of it. Is it possible I can put like 80 yards of mono and than add braid?

Im also thinking of swapping the braid out after that day, do you suggest this?

40 Pulls is 120 ft. and a pull would be 3ft. Your 30 lb Power Pro is thinner Dia. so you will have a little more. Now you get 2 fillups and can still turn your Power Pro around.
