I broke my rod over the weekend. Does anyone know how stict they are with there warranty? BPS that is. I have had this rod for about 3 years now. If i have to purchase another rod, any suggestion on something that is of the same caliber as the one i have or something better that does not cost me next weeks grocerys ;D The bionic blade is $80

if you bring it to a store they will usually replace it.if you mail it back they may not being as you are out of warranty.

Let us know if BPS replaces a three year old rod.  I'm curious.  By the way, how did it get broken?

I was fishing a jig, using short hops, i felt a hit, when i reeled down to take the slack out of the line and set the hook it snapped as i was trying to set the hook  :'( about 12-16 inches down on the rod

The BPS where I work (Sevierville, Tn) will replace a BPS rod for 1 year from sale. There is a code on each BPS rod that provides the month/year of manufacture. It is located next to the info on the butt end of the rod and very easy to overlook. It is a letter and number, for example A5 would translate to Jan 2005, B6 to Feb 2006, etc......................Al

That code wouldn't indicate the date it was sold. That rod could sit in the store for a year or more before someone bought it.
